Het Staatsexamen NT2 heeft twee programma's. Je hoeft Programma I niet te halen voordat je Programma II doet.

Niveau B1

Programma I

Voor praktisch Nederlands op het werk en in het dagelijks leven. Vaak gebruikt voor de B1-route inburgering, werk op mbo-niveau en mbo-opleidingen. Vier onderdelen op B1-niveau.

Niveau B2

Programma II

Voor studie en werk waar sterker Nederlands nodig is. Meestal vereist voor hbo, universiteit en veel Nederlandstalige banen. Vier onderdelen op B2-niveau, met formelere en academische teksten.

Twijfel je tussen B1 en B2? Kies op je doel, niet op gevoel. Wil je naar het hbo of de universiteit, dan heb je bijna altijd Programma II nodig. Veel mensen overschatten hun spreek- en schrijfniveau. Doe eerst de gratis niveautest.

Inburgeringsexamen of Staatsexamen NT2?

Ze lijken op elkaar, maar zijn niet hetzelfde. Dit is het verschil.

Het inburgeringsexamen is de wettelijke route via je gemeente. Daar horen ook KNM en de PVT bij. Lees daar alles over op de inburgeringspagina.
Het Staatsexamen NT2 is een apart taalexamen met bredere erkenning. Geen KNM, geen PVT, alleen de vier taalonderdelen. Je kunt het Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I gebruiken om aan je B1-taaleis voor inburgering te voldoen. Programma II gebruik je voor studie of werk op B2-niveau.

Kort gezegd: moet je inburgeren, kies dan vaak Programma I. Wil je studeren of werken op hoger niveau, kies Programma II. Het diploma verloopt nooit.

De vier onderdelen

Lezen, Luisteren, Spreken en Schrijven. Elk onderdeel meld je apart aan en haal je apart. Zak je voor één onderdeel? Dan doe je alleen dat ene opnieuw.

Lezen

110 min bij Programma I, 100 min bij Programma II. Teksten lezen en vragen beantwoorden.

Luisteren

Beide programma's. Elk fragment hoor je maar één keer. Niet terugspoelen.

Spreken

Je spreekt antwoorden in via een microfoon. Programma I heeft twee delen, Programma II drie.

Schrijven

100 min

Beide programma's. Verschillende opdrachten: van losse zinnen tot een korte tekst. Je typt op de computer.

Kosten: €50 per onderdeel. Een volledig examen met vier onderdelen: €200. Je slaagt voor een onderdeel met een omgerekende score van 500 of hoger. Aanmelden via MijnDUO met DigiD. Aanmelden opent meestal 8 weken voor het examen.

Praktische dingen die je moet weten

De details die mensen vaak te laat ontdekken.

  • Examens zijn er in Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Rijswijk, Rotterdam, Utrecht en Zwolle. Kies een locatie en datum bij het aanmelden.
  • Alle onderdelen maak je op de computer. Bij Lezen krijg je de teksten op papier erbij.
  • Bij Luisteren mag je geen woordenboek gebruiken. Bij Lezen mag het Van Dale Pocketwoordenboek NT2 wel.
  • Je kunt meerdere onderdelen tegelijk boeken, maar geen onderdeel waarvoor je al staat ingeschreven of nog op de uitslag wacht.
  • Het diploma en de losse certificaten verlopen nooit. Eén keer gehaald is voor altijd gehaald.
Plan vroeg: het is druk. Sommige examenmomenten zitten sneller vol dan de uiterlijke aanmelddatum. Controleer de actuele beschikbaarheid op duo.nl en meld je op tijd aan.

Wat je moet weten per onderdeel

De dingen die niemand je vertelt totdat het te laat is.

Luisteren: Elk fragment gaat maar één keer. Voor elke vraag krijg je 25 seconden om de vraag en de antwoorden te lezen. Het fragment start automatisch. Oefen altijd met een timer en spoel nooit terug.
Spreken: Je praat tegen een microfoon, niet tegen een persoon. Korte spreekopdrachten geven je 20 seconden, langere opdrachten 30 seconden of meer. Oefen hardop met een timer, want de tijd is kort.
Schrijven en Lezen: Programma II vraagt formeler en academischer Nederlands dan Programma I. Lees voor B2 elke dag opiniestukken en nieuwsartikelen, en bouw je woordenschat systematisch op. Voor B1 ligt de focus op praktische, alledaagse teksten.

Herken je dit?

Wat is het verschil tussen Programma I en Programma II?

Programma I toetst op B1-niveau, Programma II op B2-niveau. Beide hebben dezelfde vier onderdelen. B1 is praktisch Nederlands voor werk en dagelijks leven. B2 is sterker, formeler Nederlands voor studie en werk. Je hoeft Programma I niet te halen voordat je Programma II doet.

Welk programma heb ik nodig voor het hbo of de universiteit?

Bijna altijd Programma II (B2). Hbo- en universiteitsopleidingen vragen meestal B2-niveau Nederlands. Controleer altijd de exacte taaleis van de opleiding waar je heen wilt.

Wat kost het examen?

€50 per onderdeel. Vier onderdelen samen: €200. Zak je voor één onderdeel? Dan betaal je €50 voor de herkansing van alleen dat onderdeel.

Kan ik een onderdeel overdoen als ik zak?

Ja. Je doet alleen het gezakte onderdeel opnieuw. Onderdelen die je al gehaald hebt blijven staan. Het diploma krijg je zodra je alle vier de onderdelen van hetzelfde programma hebt gehaald.

Hoort KNM bij het Staatsexamen NT2?

Nee. KNM (Kennis van de Nederlandse Maatschappij) en de PVT horen bij het inburgeringsexamen, niet bij het Staatsexamen NT2. Het Staatsexamen NT2 is alleen het taalexamen met vier onderdelen.

Verloopt het diploma?

Nee. Het diploma en de losse certificaten verlopen nooit. Eén keer gehaald is voor altijd gehaald.

Is dit iets voor mij als ik op B1 zit en naar B2 wil?

Ja. De groepssessie die ik bouw is precies voor mensen die hun spreekvertrouwen willen opbouwen richting het examen. Je begrijpt al veel, maar spreken op niveau vraagt oefening. Daar werken we elke week aan.

The State Exam NT2 has two programmes. You do not need to pass Programme I before taking Programme II.

Level B1

Programme I

For practical Dutch at work and in daily life. Often used for the B1-route integration, mbo-level study and practical work. Four components at B1 level.

Level B2

Programme II

For study and work that needs stronger Dutch. Usually required for hbo, university and many Dutch-speaking jobs. Four components at B2 level, with more formal and academic texts.

Unsure between B1 and B2? Choose by your goal, not by feeling. If you want to study at hbo or university, you almost always need Programme II. Many people overestimate their speaking and writing level. Take the free level test first.

Integration exam or State Exam NT2?

They look similar but are not the same. Here is the difference.

The integration exam is the legal route through your municipality. It also includes KNM and the PVT. Read everything about it on the integration page.
The State Exam NT2 is a separate language exam with broader recognition. No KNM, no PVT, only the four language components. You can use State Exam NT2 Programme I to meet your B1 language requirement for integration. Programme II is for study or work at B2 level.

In short: if you need to integrate, Programme I is often the choice. If you want to study or work at a higher level, choose Programme II. The diploma never expires.

The four components

Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. You register and pass each one separately. Fail one? You only retake that one.

Reading

Both programmes. Each fragment plays once only. No rewinding.

Speaking

You record answers via a microphone. Programme I has two parts, Programme II three.

Both programmes. Different tasks: from single sentences to a short text. You type on the computer.

Cost: EUR 50 per component. A full exam with four components: EUR 200. You pass a component with a converted score of 500 or higher. Register via MijnDUO with DigiD. Registration usually opens 8 weeks before the exam.

Practical things you need to know

The details people often discover too late.

  • Exams take place in Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Rijswijk, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Zwolle. Choose a location and date when you register.
  • All components are taken on computer. For Reading you also get the texts on paper.
  • No dictionary is allowed for Listening. For Reading, the Van Dale Pocketwoordenboek NT2 is allowed.
  • You can book several components at once, but not a component you are already registered for or still waiting on results for.
  • The diploma and individual certificates never expire. Passed once is passed forever.
Plan early: it is busy. Some exam slots fill up faster than the final registration date. Check current availability on duo.nl and register on time.

What to know per component

The things nobody tells you until it is too late.

Listening: Each fragment plays once only. Before each question you get 25 seconds to read the question and the answers. The fragment starts automatically. Always practice with a timer and never rewind.
Speaking: You speak to a microphone, not a person. Short speaking tasks give you 20 seconds, longer ones 30 seconds or more. Practice out loud with a timer, because the time is short.
Writing and Reading: Programme II asks for more formal and academic Dutch than Programme I. For B2, read opinion pieces and news articles daily and build your vocabulary systematically. For B1 the focus is on practical, everyday texts.

Do you recognize this?

The questions I get most often about the State Exam NT2.

What is the difference between Programme I and Programme II?

Programme I tests at B1 level, Programme II at B2 level. Both have the same four components. B1 is practical Dutch for work and daily life. B2 is stronger, more formal Dutch for study and work. You do not need to pass Programme I before taking Programme II.

Which programme do I need for hbo or university?

Almost always Programme II (B2). Hbo and university programmes usually require B2 level Dutch. Always check the exact language requirement of the programme you want to enter.

What does the exam cost?

EUR 50 per component. Four components together: EUR 200. If you fail one component, you pay EUR 50 to retake only that one.

Can I retake a component if I fail?

Yes. You only retake the component you failed. Components you already passed remain valid. You get the diploma once you have passed all four components of the same programme.

Is KNM part of the State Exam NT2?

No. KNM (Knowledge of Dutch Society) and the PVT belong to the integration exam, not the State Exam NT2. The State Exam NT2 is only the language exam with four components.

Does the diploma expire?

No. The diploma and individual certificates never expire. Passed once is passed forever.

Is this for me if I am at B1 and want to reach B2?

Nivel B1

Programa I

Para holandes practico en el trabajo y la vida diaria. Se usa a menudo para la ruta B1 de integracion, estudios de nivel mbo y trabajo practico. Cuatro componentes a nivel B1.

Nivel B2

Programa II

Para estudios y trabajo que requieren un holandes mas fuerte. Suele ser obligatorio para hbo, universidad y muchos trabajos en holandes. Cuatro componentes a nivel B2, con textos mas formales y academicos.

No sabes entre B1 y B2? Elige por tu objetivo, no por sensacion. Si quieres estudiar en hbo o universidad, casi siempre necesitas el Programa II. Muchas personas sobreestiman su nivel de hablar y escribir. Haz primero la prueba de nivel gratuita.

Examen de integracion o Examen Estatal NT2?

Se parecen, pero no son lo mismo. Esta es la diferencia.

El examen de integracion es la ruta legal a traves de tu municipio. Tambien incluye KNM y el PVT. Lee todo sobre esto en la pagina de integracion.
El Examen Estatal NT2 es un examen de idioma separado con mayor reconocimiento. Sin KNM, sin PVT, solo los cuatro componentes de idioma. Puedes usar el Examen Estatal NT2 Programa I para cumplir tu requisito de idioma B1 para la integracion. El Programa II es para estudios o trabajo a nivel B2.

En resumen: si tienes que integrarte, el Programa I suele ser la opcion. Si quieres estudiar o trabajar a un nivel mas alto, elige el Programa II. El diploma nunca caduca.

Lectura, Escucha, Hablar y Escritura. Te registras y apruebas cada uno por separado. Repruebas uno? Solo repites ese.

Cosas practicas que debes saber

Los detalles que la gente descubre demasiado tarde.

Lo que debes saber de cada componente

Lo que nadie te dice hasta que es demasiado tarde.

Escucha: Cada fragmento suena una sola vez. Antes de cada pregunta tienes 25 segundos para leer la pregunta y las respuestas. El fragmento empieza automaticamente. Practica siempre con un temporizador y nunca rebobines.
Hablar: Hablas a un microfono, no a una persona. Las tareas cortas te dan 20 segundos, las largas 30 segundos o mas. Practica en voz alta con un temporizador, porque el tiempo es corto.
Escritura y Lectura: El Programa II pide un holandes mas formal y academico que el Programa I. Para B2, lee articulos de opinion y noticias a diario y construye tu vocabulario de forma sistematica. Para B1 el enfoque es en textos practicos y cotidianos.

Las preguntas que recibo con mas frecuencia sobre el Examen Estatal NT2.

Cual es la diferencia entre el Programa I y el Programa II?

El Programa I evalua a nivel B1, el Programa II a nivel B2. Ambos tienen los mismos cuatro componentes. B1 es holandes practico para trabajo y vida diaria. B2 es un holandes mas fuerte y formal para estudios y trabajo. No necesitas aprobar el Programa I antes de hacer el Programa II.

Que programa necesito para hbo o universidad?

Casi siempre el Programa II (B2). Los programas de hbo y universidad suelen exigir holandes a nivel B2. Siempre revisa el requisito de idioma exacto del programa al que quieres entrar.

Cuanto cuesta el examen?

EUR 50 por componente. Cuatro componentes juntos: EUR 200. Si repruebas un componente, pagas EUR 50 para repetir solo ese.

Puedo repetir un componente si lo repruebo?

Si. Solo repites el componente que reprobaste. Los que ya aprobaste siguen siendo validos. Recibes el diploma cuando apruebas los cuatro componentes del mismo programa.

El KNM forma parte del Examen Estatal NT2?

No. El KNM (Conocimiento de la Sociedad Holandesa) y el PVT pertenecen al examen de integracion, no al Examen Estatal NT2. El Examen Estatal NT2 es solo el examen de idioma con cuatro componentes.

El diploma caduca?

No. El diploma y los certificados individuales nunca caducan. Aprobado una vez es aprobado para siempre.

Es esto para mi si estoy en B1 y quiero llegar a B2?

Si. La sesion grupal que estoy construyendo es exactamente para personas que quieren construir su confianza al hablar de cara al examen. Ya entiendes mucho, pero hablar a nivel requiere practica. En eso trabajamos cada semana.
