We want you to be completely satisfied with Learn with Lucas. This policy outlines our refund terms for subscriptions, digital products, and private lessons. If you have any questions, please contact us at english@learnwithlucas.com.
Monthly Subscriptions (Supported Speaking / Ondersteund Spreken)
3-Day Money-Back Guarantee
Monthly subscriptions include a 3-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your subscription within the first 3 days of purchase, you may request a full refund.
After 3 Days
After the 3-day period, monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time to prevent future billing, and you will retain full access until the end of your current billing period.
Example: If you subscribe on March 9 and request a refund on March 11 (day 2), you will receive a full refund. If you request a refund on March 15 (day 6), the subscription is non-refundable, but you may cancel to prevent the April 9 charge. You keep access until April 9.
How to Cancel
To request a refund (within 3 days) or cancel:
- Email english@learnwithlucas.com with your subscription email address
- Or manage your subscription directly through your payment provider (Stripe or PayPal)
Yearly Subscriptions
14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
Yearly subscriptions include a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your subscription within the first 14 days of purchase, you may request a full refund.
After 14 Days
After the 14-day period, yearly subscriptions are non-refundable. You will retain full access for the entire 12-month period you purchased. You may cancel at any time to prevent auto-renewal for the following year.
Example: If you purchase a yearly subscription on March 9 and request a refund on March 20 (day 11), you will receive a full refund. If you request a refund on March 30 (day 21), the subscription is non-refundable, but you keep access until March 9, 2027.
One-Time Products (Story Sets, Bundles, Digital Materials)
No Refunds After Download or Access
Digital products are non-refundable after download or access. Once you have accessed or downloaded the product, the transaction is final.
Technical Issues
If you experience technical problems that prevent you from accessing a purchased product (broken download links, corrupted files, etc.), please contact us within 7 days of purchase. We will either:
- Resolve the technical issue and provide working access, or
- Issue a full refund if the issue cannot be resolved
Private Lessons (English & Dutch)
Unused Hours Are Fully Refundable
Any unused hours in your private lesson package are 100% refundable at any time. Hours that have already been completed are non-refundable.
Exam Prep Packages
For exam prep packages, the base lesson hours follow the standard refund policy (unused hours refundable). However, the additional exam prep fee is non-refundable once the customized materials have been prepared.
Example: You purchase a 4-hour package (€265 for English). You complete 1.5 hours of lessons. You may request a refund for the remaining 2.5 hours. Calculation: €265 / 4 hours = €66.25/hour. Refund = 2.5 hours x €66.25 = €165.63.
Exam Prep Example: You purchase a 4-hour exam prep package for €265 (€229 base + €36 exam prep fee). After 1 hour, you request a refund. You receive a refund for 3 unused hours (3 x €57.25 = €171.75). The €36 exam prep fee is non-refundable because materials were already customized.
Rescheduling Policy
You may reschedule individual lessons with at least 24 hours notice at no charge. Cancellations or rescheduling requests with less than 24 hours notice forfeit that individual lesson session (no refund).
How to Request a Refund
Refund Request Process
- Email us: Send a refund request to english@learnwithlucas.com
- Include the following information:
- Your full name
- Email address used for the purchase
- Product or subscription type
- For private lessons: number of hours completed vs. total purchased
- Reason for refund request (optional but helpful)
- Processing time: Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
- Refund method: Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for purchase (Stripe or PayPal)
Exceptions and Special Circumstances
Extenuating Circumstances
We understand that unexpected situations arise. If you experience exceptional circumstances (serious illness, family emergency, etc.) that prevent you from using your subscription or lessons, please contact us. We will review your situation on a case-by-case basis and may offer:
- Account pause or extension
- Partial refund or credit
- Rescheduling flexibility beyond standard policy
Technical Service Disruptions
If Learn with Lucas experiences extended service disruptions (website downtime, inability to access materials, cancelled group sessions) lasting more than 7 consecutive days, affected subscribers may request a prorated refund for the disruption period.
Chargebacks and Disputes
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us, your account will be immediately suspended pending resolution. We encourage you to contact us directly at english@learnwithlucas.com to resolve any billing concerns before pursuing a chargeback.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers via email.
